OBS Setup Tutorial for Capturing CS2

Learn how to set up OBS for capturing Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) gameplay without accidentally recording overlays like your Steam overlay, or sensitive tools such as cheats or hacks. If you’re looking for a way to hide cheats in OBS while streaming or recording, this guide has you covered.

Step 1: Set Launch Options in Steam

To allow OBS to capture CS2 while hiding overlays, including cheats, hacks, or the Steam overlay, follow these steps:

  1. Open Steam and go to your Library.
  2. Right-click on Counter-Strike 2 and select Properties.
  3. In the Launch Options field, add the following: -allow_third_party_software

This launch option ensures OBS can capture CS2 directly without unintentionally exposing additional tools like cheats or hacks.
